1. Paris Marathon - Taking place in April, the Paris marathon is one of the most popular events in any serious runners calendar.  Starting at the Champs Elysees and taking you through the rue de Paris, this is the best way to see this historic city.

2. Virgin Money London Marathon -  Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London, supported by thousands of fans screaming to support you all the way.  Early registration is a definite must for this royal run. Big Ben, The Tower of London, Buckingham palace are only some of the sights to greet you along the track.

3. Boston Marathon - Celebrate Patriots day with the people of Boston and whole lot more.  The worlds oldest and most prestigious marathon this should be high on the priority list. Due to popularity, applicants have to qualify for entree so start planning early to get your best chance of crossing that finish line near the infamous John Hancock Tower.

4. Great Wall Marathon - It’s not just the pavement you’ll be contending with here. 5,164 steps scaling the only man made feature in the world visable from space.  Revered as one of the most challenging and rewarding marathons, spectacular views will keep the heart pumping even more.

5. Amsterdam Marathon - Leave the clogs and grab your trainers to hit the majestic roads of Amsterdam.  Beginning and Finishing at Olympic stadium, the teraine offers a great opportunity for first time marathons runners to compete in a level course along the Amstel and through the Vondelpark.  Try to wait until the end if you’re planning on visiting some of the local coffee houses!

6. BMW Berlin Marathon - One of the most popular marathons in the world, fast and flat.  Great running conditions and another fantastic way to take in the city as some of the major landmarks are all featured along the route.  You’ll be screaming Ya Ya YA as you finish through the Brandenburger Gate.  It’s magical and something you won’t forget.

7. Dublin Marathon - Dublin city is small in comparison to other cities around the world yet this marathon brings competitors from worldwide locations.  The mixture of hills and flat terraine carries you right through Dublin city, the infamous Phoenix park and some of the beautiful leafy suburbs of south Dublin.  The atmosphere is fierce throughout the whole track, with supporters cheering on to carry you over some of those tougher hills finishing back in Merrion Square ready for a night of celebrating if your legs can keep going.

8. Dubrovnik Marathon -  For all those Game of Thrones fans, where better than to run the walls of Winterfell!  For everyone else, Dubrovnick boasts some of the most amazingly beautiful sites along the marathon route.

9. New York Marathon - The Big Apple also hosts the biggest marathon in the world. The marathon brings runners through the 5 borroughs of New York city ensuring there is not one part of this famous city that is not featured.  If you can “make it there” it will definitely be one to remember.

10. Victoria Falls Marathon - This marathon experience will leave some amazing memories.  The route takes you through heritage park where you’ll be running alongside big game such as Elephant and the spray from the falls will help cool you down.  This is one to turn in to a proper holiday. So much to see and what better way to see it.
